Municipality Smyadovo

The municipality of Smyadovo is located at the foot of the northern slopes of the Eastern Balkan Mountains and falls into two physical-geographical areas: District of the Danube Plain, eastern sub-district (Ludogorsko-Dobrudzhanska); Shumen-Provadiya region and the Balkan Mountains region, a subregion of the Pre-Balkan region. To the north it borders with the Municipality of Shumen, to the northeast with the Municipality of Provadia /Varna Region/, to the south with the Municipalities of Ruen and Sungurlare /Burgas Region/, to the west with the Municipality of Varbitsa and to the northwest with the Municipality of Veliki Preslav.

The extremely important road to Rishki Prohod passes through the municipality, which connects Silistra district with Shumen district and Burgas district. The municipality is in the so-called backward rural areas.

Smyadovo municipality is located in an extremely good geostrategic location. Through its territory, connections can be made with the Silistra and Shumen Regions. Railway transport is extremely efficient and convenient for transporting goods and raw materials. The railway passes through the municipal center of Smyadovo. line and road II class: Shumen-Karnobat, which connect Northern and Southern Bulgaria.
